Sheriff Tanner adds two deputies to the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that it has hired two additional Deputy Sheriff’s.   The new Deputies were sworn in as Raleigh County Deputies on November 15th, 2011 at the Raleigh County Courthouse.  Honorable Judge Robert A. Burnside Jr.  gave the oath to the incoming deputies and they signed the paperwork which makes them full fledged Deputies of Raleigh County.  Sheriff Steve Tanner was at the ceremony and shook hands with each of the new Deputy Sheriffs.

Justin A. Grogg attended the West Virginia State Police Academy and graduated in August 2007.  He brings nearly five years of experience with him from his previous post at the Beckley Police Department.

Billy J. Adkins attended the West Virginia State Police Academy and graduated in April of 2008.  He brings just over four years of experience with him from his previous post at the Beckley Police Department.

Both Deputies will train for a few weeks with other Deputies from the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office to learn procedures and operation in the day to day duties of a Raleigh County Deputy Sheriff.
