Lieutenant James Patrick Vance Retirement Announcement

 

James Patrick "Pat" Vance is retiring after 20 years and 5 months of dedicated service. 

Pat was hired as a deputy on Oct 1, 1990.  He attended the 1st Regional Police Acadamy which was, at that time, in Raleigh County.  His acadamy days started Oct 15, 1990 and ended on February 1st, 1991.  Since that time he has served many different positions.  Pat Vance was Supervisor of the Home Confinement Program for 14 years, serving from 1994 through 2008.  At the same time, he doubled as the Evidence Officer for the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office.  Pat was one of the first members of the Special Response Team, which attended Counterdrug Special Reaction Team Course classes at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 2000.  After leaving the post of Home Confinement Supervisor, Pat went back onto the road as a Shift Supervisor.  Pat recently recieved a promotion in rank to Lieutentant in September of 2010.  Pat officially retires on March 1, 2011.  The Sheriff's Office of Raleigh County is sponsoring a retirement luncheon on February 28, 2011 convening at noon in the Law Enforcement Division of the Sheriff's Office.
